How Can I Get The Computer In One Room To Send Stuff To The Printer On My Computer In Another Room. Internet?

I have a printer hooked up to the computer in my room. My daughter has a computer in her room and no printer. How can she do her homework on her computer, but have it print out on the printer in my room? Do I need the internet on one computer or both? Maybe not at all?

The simplest solution for you would be to get a router to hook both computers up to. They run anywhere from $40 to $100 US.
That way you can set up file and print sharing over your home network, plus you can have internet on both computers.

You need to network your PC with hers using an ethernet cable(LAN). Router is optional as it’s primarily used for the internet. So, if you are both setup with the internet thru a router or if your just connected together with a LAN cable, then jsut create a network for printer sharing using the Network Setup Wizard in “Network Connections” in start menu or desktop

You don’t necessarily need the internet on both but the two computers have to be networked together. You’d need a router and have both computers hooked to the router, either through a wireless connection or direct cable from the computers to the router. Then you can share the printer on the computer it is connected to. Then the computer your daughter uses can connect to the printer through the router.
