What Is The Easiest Software For Creating A Good Digital Model Of A Room?

I need to create a digital model of an existing room, including positioning of the existing decoration (paintings, architectural ornamentation) on the walls and ceiling. Ideally, I’d like to end up with a digital model which will allow me to see how things are positioned in space from different viewpoints. Is there an easy software program which will do this, or is it worthwhile to hire someone experienced in CAD software to do it?

If you are looking for easy and cheap you can go with Google Sketchup, which should do the job (especially if it is just for visualizing). It is a free download and I’d say the learning curve for what you want to do might be about an hour. You can download it here: http://sketchup.google.com/download/
